To get the conversation started, introduce yourself on the forum and then read and respond to other posts you find interesting. You can post whatever you want but here are some suggestions:

  • Where are you from?
  • What is your educational background?
  • What are your professional interests?
  • What do you hope to get from the summer school?
  • What are your hobbies, passions, interests?
Click the Reply button (lower right) to create your introduction. This will open a window for entering your post.

Be sure to change the value of the Subject field to your name before saving your post. This will help to distinguish your introduction from the others.

Introduction: Gaurav Kumar

by Gaurav Kumar -

Hello everyone, I am Gaurav Kumar from India. I'm a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering department at the University of Maryland College Park, USA. I work on computation of vibrational mode properties of crystalline materials, which manifest the atomic scale nature of thermal transport.

I did my B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in India. After graduating, I worked as a research engineer for ~3 years at Honda Automobile R&D Center Tochigi, Japan.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading fiction, watching anime, and always down for a glass of beer with friends

Looking forward to meeting you all.

Hi Gaurav,

Thanks for introducing yourself! However, you may want to add your introduction to the 'Introductions Forum' instead of this one. There was a design mistake, and this Introduce Yourself! thread should have been removed from this forum when the Introductions Forum was created. Sorry about the confusion.
