Group Meeting
On
Wednesday, we'll have a
45-minute group meetings for the assigned mentor and mentee groups. We encourage mentees to think ahead of time about topics you
might want to discuss, or questions you’d like answered. Some suggestions are available in the Guide For Mentees.
Resource Fair
At the Resource Fair, mentors will be stationed at different locations in gather.town, each with a different topic of discussion. Students will be able to wander freely between mentors and talk about topics of interest. A list of topics will be posted on the Moodle before the event.
Career Workshop
During
the Career Workshop, we'll start with a brief discussion highlighting some of the different career paths available. Then we'll split into pairs of students, who will read each other's résumés/CVs and provide feedback.
Returning Mentor Panel
For
our last mentoring session, students will have an opportunity to interact
with returning mentors. We’ll have a panel discussion with returning mentors who have chosen different paths since their time at the Summer
School, and give students a chance to ask them questions. We recommend that students watch the returning mentor lightning talks before this session.
